On April 5th, Spectrum Strategies attended the AHA conference at Adelphi University. This conference was extremely inspiring for parents, children their families and all the professionals who were in attendance. From the keynote speakers, to the workshops and panel discussions, we were able to take away with us various strategies and tools to develop an action plan to help young adults to work on the skills needed to go through different life transitions and advocate for themselves.  The goal is to create a solid foundation for success to create confidence.

After leaving the conference, all we could think about was how empowered and encouraged we felt about all the programs and the continued awareness the world has with individuals with Asperger Syndrome and High Functioning Autism. It takes a community that is united to continually create opportunities for these young adults.

The keynote speaker of the conference was Alex Plank who is a consultant on FX’s the bridge and also is the creator and founder of WrongPlanet.net, the largest networking site for autism and asperger’s. We encourage everyone to follow him on his social media pages, check out his show on FX and check out his website.
