Privacy Policy

Effective

This Privacy Policy describes how Spectrum Roadmap ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit our website, purchase a community membership, or interact with our onboarding flow and communications (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide to us. When you purchase a community membership, create an account, or complete our onboarding interview, we collect information such as your name, email address, billing details, payment method (processed by our payment processor — we do not store full card numbers), and the responses you share with us in the onboarding conversation.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website or open our emails, we and our service providers may automatically collect information about your device and use of the Services, including IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, and timestamps. We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to do this. See "Advertising and Analytics" below.

Information from third parties. We receive information from our e-commerce platform, email and marketing tools, and advertising partners — for example, the name and email associated with a purchase, or conversion events tied to ads you saw before signing up.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • provide, operate, and maintain the Services, including delivering your community access and onboarding;
  • communicate with you about your account, support requests, programming, and changes to the Services;
  • send you marketing emails and offers (you can opt out at any time);
  • personalize and improve the Services and develop new features;
  • measure and improve the performance of our marketing, including showing you relevant ads;
  • detect, prevent, and address fraud, security incidents, and abuse; and
  • comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers. We share information with vendors who help us operate the Services — for example, our e-commerce platform (Shopify), email and marketing platforms (e.g., Klaviyo), our community Slack workspace, our data storage providers (e.g., Airtable), and AI providers we use to power the onboarding conversation (e.g., Anthropic). These providers are bound by contract to use the information only on our behalf.
  • Advertising partners. We share certain information (such as hashed email addresses and on-site events) with advertising platforms like Meta and Google so they can measure ad performance and show ads to relevant audiences. Depending on your jurisdiction, this may be considered a "sale" or "share" of personal information under laws like the CCPA.
  • Legal and safety. We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation or protect the rights, property, or safety of Spectrum Roadmap, our members, or others.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • With your consent. With your consent or at your direction.

4. Advertising and Analytics

We work with advertising and analytics partners — including Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google, and similar platforms — to measure and improve our marketing. These partners may use cookies, pixels, SDKs, and similar technologies to collect information about your activity on our Services and elsewhere, and to show you ads about Spectrum Roadmap on other platforms.

You can opt out of interest-based advertising in several ways:

  • Adjust your ad settings within Meta, Google, or other platforms directly.
  • Visit the Digital Advertising Alliance or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out pages.
  • Use your browser's controls to block cookies.
  • If you are in a jurisdiction that recognizes Global Privacy Control (GPC), we honor GPC signals as an opt-out of "sale" and "sharing" for advertising purposes.

5. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate information;
  • request deletion of your personal information;
  • opt out of marketing emails (use the unsubscribe link in any email);
  • opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising;
  • restrict or object to certain processing; and
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When we no longer need information, we delete or de-identify it.

7. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. International Users

We are based in the United States, and the Services are operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the U.S. and other countries where we or our service providers operate. By using the Services, you consent to this transfer.

9. California Residents

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know, the right to delete, the right to correct, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version here and update the "Effective" date above. If the changes are material, we will provide additional notice (such as by email or a prominent notice on the Services).
